This is a follow-up message providing an update to the news sent by a previous message.
There have been a string of vehicle interferences and vehicle break-ins in the local area, especially around St Pauls Road, Hemel Hempstead, but also in other areas.
While two offenders have been arrested for multiple of these offences, there are several pieces of property that have not been claimed by members of the public, which are believed to have been taken from these vehicles. We are encouraging people to check their vehicles and be certain nothing has been taken.
If you or someone you know has had their items stolen in recent times, please either reply to this message or email Detective Constable Chloe Edmonds at <Chloe.Edmonds@herts.police.uk>, informing us of what was taken.
Please also share this message with your neighbours, friends, and/or family who live nearby that have had their property stolen approximately within the last month.
We would rather this property be returned to its owners, as otherwise without an owner it will have to be destroyed.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime: Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicleWhen parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.
